Southwest Garden Neighborhood

The Garden District Dog Park Committee has formed to bring another dog park to St. Louis. The proposed site is located at the corner of Cleveland and Maury in the Southwest Garden Neighborhood. The area considered part of the Southwest Garden Neighborhood is from Shaw to Tower Grove and Vandeventer to Hampton.

They are currently looking for neighbors who would like to become part of the effort. They will be needing help in all areas including landscape architecture, fundraising , signs, plumbing, etc.

Their alderman has indicated that fencing will be donated. Cheryl Fields, committee chair says they are hoping to open in July, 2005. They probably will have resident/non-resident fees.

Sue Raney spoke to the neighborhood association for the group. She advised them that since the land is owned by LRA, they will need insurance.

Cheryl Fields has purchased the URL gardendistrictdogpark.com for the use of the committee. Keep checking for the opening of their site.

Please contact Cheryl Fields to get involved.
