Current conditions/news

St. Charles County Parks and Recreation has added a new all-dog fenced area to the Quail Ridge Off Leash Area to help control the damage to the turf. One will be closed in spring, and one in fall, so that during that time, the grass is allowed to grow untouched and be maintained while the dogs use the other side. The County decided that this would be better than closing the entire dog park to rest the turf and allow for maintenance. In the long run, this should make for a much more pleasant dog park.

The small-dog area will always be open because the small dogs don't inflict enough damage to warrant closing that area.

Also, the shelter has been surrounded by fencing with gates leading to all three play areas. When one all-dog area is closed, the gate to the open all-dog area will be propped open so people have access to the shelter.

It is unlikely that both large fenced areas will ever be open at the same time, except for a special event.
